Since the beginning, we’ve had one mission — to bring those who are far from God, close to him. As we enter another year, this is what we hold fast to. Building for generations to come. We believe as we continue to make space for people, that God will make a way.

The Legacy Team is an exciting addition to our Serve Teams at City Light. We are thrilled to introduce this team, designed for individuals who sense a special call to support the mission of City Light by making a more significant financial commitment. Members will make a consistent and dedicated monthly contribution above their tithe to the church building, thus investing in the future of our community and ministry.

“Whoever has the gift of giving to others should give freely.” Romans 12:8
Did you know that was in the Bible? As one theologian put it, “The spiritual gift of giving is a special ability given by the Holy Spirit to individuals within the church. Those with this gift have a unique desire and capacity to generously contribute their resources for the support of God’s work.” I have often said that God has trusted me with the vision of City Light but he has entrusted the entire church body with the speed in which that vision can come to pass. I believe God is raising up a group of people who feel a specific passion to support the vision of City Light with a strategic and consistent offering every month that will empower us to pay off our new building at a miraculous pace!

No. We simply ask that you commit to a consistent, monthly offering above your tithe that will be designated to the building. This is not a ministry only for the affluent, this is a ministry for those who feel called to use their finances for the spreading of the gospel.

Anyone who feels called to the vision of City Light Church.

By the grace of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit:
— I will tithe to the house of the Lord
— I will give $ ________ every month as an offering towards the new building
— I will pray about my part in the Miracle Offering

“each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.” 1 Corinthians 16:2
The Apostle Paul thought it was important to plan and budget our money for giving. He believed that if the Corinthian Church gave regularly and faithfully, they wouldn't have financial problems or need to give money in "emergency offerings". This approach allows us to prioritize giving to God's work and relieves us from feeling pressured or guilty about giving. Personally, I've always included my tithe and a set offering amount in my budget, which has helped me stay committed to supporting the Kingdom.

Right now the entire focus of the Legacy Team is on paying down the debt on the building. In the future, we want to give you different “giving lanes” that speak to your heart. You will be able to designate your Legacy offering to:
